The Psychology of Confidence

Confidence plays a crucial role in our personal and professional lives. The idea behind power posing is that adopting expansive postures can trigger hormonal changes in the body, leading to increased feelings of power and confidence.


While confidence can be an admirable trait and good for personal growth, it is essential to acknowledge that the pendulum can easily swing too far the other way. An abundance of confidence can take a person out of their depth, and drive them to pursue goals that just are not realistic. Furthermore, an excessive focus on external validation can have detrimental effects on one's mental health and well-being. Like most things in life, finding the correct balance of confidence is essential. By cultivating a deeper understanding of oneself and developing healthy coping mechanisms, individuals can build a strong foundation for lasting confidence and self-assurance.
