Psychotherapy & Counselling

James spent 18 years living abroad in various countries, an experience that shaped his belief that wellbeing is rooted in the quality of our relationships—with others and with ourselves. He is an accredited coach and psychotherapist in training, holding a Diploma in Positive Psychology Coaching and currently completing a Master’s degree in Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy. He is also a student member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and expects to progress to pre-accredited status in mid-2027.

Having spent years supporting people through career transitions, James recognised that feeling professionally stuck often reflected a deeper need for belonging, purpose and emotional safety. This understanding informs his approach: each person’s experiences, cultural background and current challenges deserve individual attention.

James listens deeply and draws on a range of therapeutic approaches to support people in moving forward. His areas of focus include anxiety, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBI), Positive Psychology, Inner Child Work, Attachment Theory and Person-Centred Therapy.

Combining his coaching skills with his developing counselling practice, James offers a supportive space where people can feel heard and understood. He helps them build the confidence, resilience and self-awareness to make meaningful changes in their lives.
