Barbara Barrett

I hold an honours Bachelor of Science Degree since 2006 and am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My approach to therapy is to move clients through the Psychotherapeutic process in a secure and non-judgemental environment. Psychotherapy is a way of exploring the human condition by creating a safe place for individuals to speak about difficulties that they may be experiencing currently in their lives and their relationships. This will include many different approaches including Personal Centred Therapy.

Each client is individual with their own unique way of being and their own specific life experiences which they will bring to the process. Therefore, each piece of work will match the client’s needs. Most importantly, it is the client’s journey and they themselves are the only expert on their lives.

I have a particular interest in Loss and Bereavement, having spent twenty years in a Hospice supporting people on their journey through loss. I also have experience of working with a wide range of other issues:

Depression, Anxiety, low mood and self-esteem, Confidence, Stress, Crisis pregnancy, Separation, and relationship break-down.
